Six Unique Quilts Being Auctioned in Support of Regional Rescue Program

Online auction of hand-quilted and machine-quilted creations starts today

November 7, 2011 – Syngenta Canada is pleased to announce an online auction of six stunning quilts, which begins today and runs through Tuesday, December 6, 2011. The proceeds of the auction will support the STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society) program with operations based out of Calgary, Edmonton and Grand Prairie.

The quilts, three of which are hand-quilted and three of which are machine-quilted, were created by the women of Hutterite colonies located in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. While all the quilts are standard queen size, each boasts an original pattern and fabrics.

“Each quilt is truly a work of art, reflecting unparalleled creativity and craftsmanship,” explained Tracy Clark, Marketing Communications Manager for Syngenta Canada. “We anticipate quite the demand for them, which will directly benefit the STARS program.”

STARS is a non-profit charitable organization that provides safe, rapid, highly specialized emergency medical transport for the critically ill and injured. These services are particularly important for people located in rural and remote areas who need to be transported to medical centres and facilities.

Complete auction details including pictures of the quilts are posted to the auction site http://stores.ebay.ca/syngenta-quilt-auction - see below for photos of the quilts.
