“Mobile use of the internet will be one of the most important developments within the agricultural environment over the next few years and we aim to be ahead of the game,” explains Edwina Wood (Online Network Manager, Fulbourn).
Syngenta’s mobile web is tailored to growers’ needs. For example, potato growers can quickly download key application data and product guides related to potatoes.
“Many growers are equipped with smart phones, so they can easily access our regularly updated weather forecasts, news and Syngenta contact details,” continues Edwina. |
Also launched recently is the innovative ‘communities’ section of
www.syngenta-crop.co.uk. This easy-to-use platform helps growers find out how others in the industry are dealing with issues, including pest and disease outbreaks. Growers can contribute, and stay informed, via specific online discussions. “Growers will inevitably raise questions about their crop agronomy. The forum provides the ideal format to get practical answers from the experiences of others,” Edwina adds.
