About Grangemouth
Grangemouth Manufacturing Centre was founded in 1919. We currently have four active ingredient (AI) manufacturing plants and one formulation and fill and pack plant. All have been commissioned in the last 13 years with the most recent opening in May 2010. We employ over 350 people in various roles including manufacturing, engineering, scientific and support. This enables us to continually meet the global demand for our products and help growers protect their crops and increase their yield.
Syngenta’s biggest selling product, the fungicide Amistar®, is manufactured on Site with three of our AI plants dedicated to its production. We formulate, fill and pack Amistar® for sales in over 100 countries.
The AI for Syngenta’s new blockbuster herbicide Axial® is also manufactured on Site, and we formulate the fungicides Cherokee®, Revus® and Bravo®, also for worldwide export.
Syngenta Grangemouth is active in the local community. It supports the Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre, a demonstration site to show how urban green spaces can be created from wasteland, and how green amenity areas, including gardens, can be managed to meet both human and wildlife needs.
