Enogen Corn

Enogen™ corn was specifically bio-engineered to express alpha amylase enzyme, the primary enzyme used in dry grind corn ethanol production, directly in the endosperm of the corn kernel. When Enogen grain is metered into a dry grind ethanol production process, the need to add liquid alpha amylase is eliminated. Enogen grain also reduces or eliminates the need to adjust pH with chemicals (ammonia and sulfuric acid). Finally, slurry viscosity is reduced, yielding improved process performance and reduced maintenance as well as lower energy and water use. Together these benefits combine to improve efficiency and reduce process costs.
