Trem Cards (Without Red Borders)
Trem Card, What is it?
A Tremcard is a Transport Emergency Card. It must be carried in the cab of the vehicle that is transporting dangerous goods by road. It contains instructions and information that the driver can refer to in the event of an incident involving the hazardous load
According to SANS 10232 - Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Tremcards should be reproduced on paper of size A4, with red borders (to be easily recognisable). It is also required that Tremcards shall be generated from the latest edition of the European Council of Chemical Manufacturer's Federation (CEFIC) Tremcard System and should be in English, clean and legible.
CEFIC TREMCARDS (without red borders): You can print Tremcards without red borders on pre-printed red-bordered paper, mostly used by distributors as they print many Tremcards daily.
CEFIC TREMCARDS (with red borders): You can print Tremcards with red borders using a colour printer if you do not have the pre-printed red-bordered paper, mostly used with once of printing.
The classification for Transportation could be found under section 14 of the Safety Data Sheet. If it is stated that the product is not classified as hazardous for transportation, it will not require a Tremcard.
