Award honors commitment to a balanced story

Toxicologist Dr. Donna Houghton of Syngenta Crop Protection Canada, Inc., has won this year’s Chairman's Award from CropLife Canada.

The industry association writes that its award “recognizes Dr. Houghton's tireless efforts to present a balanced story about crop protection, as well as her involvement with various government regulatory agencies”.

Donna Houghton is a highly respected scientist specializing in human exposure to pesticides. She chaired CropLife Canada's toxicology sub-committee for two years. Houghton has also worked hard to try to correct misconceptions regarding pesticide exposure and human health by giving presentations to numerous lay and professional groups.

Donna Houghton is the fourth Syngenta employee to win this prestigious award since its inception in 1993.

CropLife Canada is the trade association representing developers, manufacturers and distributors of plant science innovations.
