Product description
30ml vial products contains purified mummies in sufficient quantity to yield 250, 500 or 1,000 adults of Aphidius matricariae.
This tiny braconid wasp will sting and parasitize smaller aphids such as Aphis gossypii, Myzus persicae and Myzus persicae nicotianae.
Aphid parasite
- Preventative control of Aphis gossypii, Myzus persicae and Myzus persicae nicotianae.
- Adults begin to emerge in transit for immediate release.
- Sugar-water feeder ring ensures adult survival.
- Ventilated cap for optimum humidity.
General information
The Red Tobacco Aphid (Myzus persicae nicotianae) is an increasing pest of pepper crops, Aphiline m is particularly useful as it will establish quickly if the red aphid is a specific problem. Aphiline m is also useful to add to a biological control programme in strawberry crops where it can broaden the range of aphids that will be parasitized. Release weekly at low rates as winged aphids appear in the crop. If colonies become established, make localized hotspot treatments or intervene at the economic threshold with a selective aphicide (eg pymetrozine, pirimicarb.) If aphids are suspected of transmitting virus or populations are high, use pymetrozine or pirimicarb (depending on local registrations in the crop) before releasing Aphidius matricariae.
Do not spray between release of adults and mummy formation.
Instructions for use Aphiline m
Use at the rate of 0.1-0.5 adults per m² for preventative use. Dose rate may be increased 5-fold for hot spots.
Open in the greenhouse. Walk around the area to be treated, holding the open tube at a 45° angle, releasing the emerged adults into the air. Distribute the adults evenly over the area. Finish by placing the open tube in the greenhouse next to a plant in case more hatch. Suitable for use in all greenhouse crops.
