Product description
Encarsia formosa is a hymenopterous parasite of whitefly, attacking larvae at the 3rd and 4th larval stage. It is supplied as parasitised scales attached to cards, which are hung in the crop from where they hatch out and attack the whiteflies. Each card will produce either a minimum of 60 or 100 female wasps.

Important information
If daytime greenhouse temperatures drop below 18ºC, and below 14ºC at night, emergence may be delayed and establishment will be poor. Encarsia formosa is not recommended for control of Bemisia tabaci.
Instructions for use
Use 1 Encarsia per m2 at weekly intervals until whitefly appear, then increase the dose to 2 Encarsia per m2 at weekly intervals until 90% of whitefly scales on lower leaves are black. Open the box in the glasshouse. Separate individual cards by carefully tearing the strips along the perforations. Always handle the cards by the tops to prevent damage to Encarsia pupae.
Tomatoes and Cucumbers:
- Hang the cards in a shady position amongst the foliage of the crop,
1 metre beneath the plant head
- Distribute the cards uniformly throughout the crop
Pot Plants:
- Place or hang the cards in a shady position level with the lower leaves
- Avoid contact with the growing medium
- Distribute the cards uniformly throughout the crop
Storage and transport
- Keep out of direct sunlight
- Transport and store at 6-10ºC
- Use immediately, or within 18 hours of receipt
