Collaboration with innovators offers sustainable benefits
Syngenta signs partnership with green technology company, Agrinos
09 August 2012
Breakthrough innovation is at the heart of Syngenta's integrated strategy. To meet the challenge of increasing farm productivity, innovation needs to extend across the entire agricultural and food value chain. Syngenta does not have all the answers. Our ability to identify adjacencies and engage strategic partners is crucial in enabling us to broaden the solutions we offer to growers worldwide.
After having seen the technology in trials, Syngenta has signed a partnership agreement with Norwegian green agricultural technology company, Agrinos.
From 2013, Syngenta will have the rights to test and market Agrinos' High Yield Technology™ (HYT) separately or in combination with Syngenta's existing technologies.
HYT works by strengthening the soil-based microbial ecosystem, stimulating crop development at key stages in the growth cycle and boosting natural plant resistance to stress and other threats.
"Environmentally sustainable innovation in agriculture is paramount in the work we do at Syngenta," said Robert Berendes, Head of Business Development. "Global demand for healthy and affordable food is growing while natural resources are increasingly constrained. We're excited about the collaboration with Agrinos, which by increasing the tools available to growers has the potential to help increase crop productivity and grower income."
