At Syngenta, enterprising individuals can find a place to flourish, joining like-minded visionaries who are striving toward the same goal. Driven by purpose and fueled by the brightest minds in the business, we’re harnessing technology to transform modern agriculture.
"Transforming agriculture with Syngenta means building where it matters most. I used to see agriculture as a distant topic, but being part of Syngenta has shown me how deeply it is embedded in everything around us. From visiting farms and experiencing the depth of our technology to passing our R&D centres, you can feel how much we care for people and the land. Here, I’ve found a culture that fosters curiosity and autonomy, colleagues who want to evolve together, and leaders who inspire me to do my best work," said Carolina Serrão, Global IT & Digital Functions Talent Acquisition Manager.
At Syngenta, we have bold aspirations. By leveraging technology, data, and innovation, we're helping to tackle one of the biggest challenges of our time: feeding a growing global population while protecting the planet's natural resources.
While many technology companies exist solely to optimize clicks, Syngenta uses technology to strengthen food security for current and future generations. Joining Syngenta offers driven and curious people a rare opportunity to work at the cutting edge of scientific innovation, while contributing to a mission with global impact.
Where technology meets purpose
At Syngenta, we’re shaping the future of farming. We're focused on helping farmers sustainably feed an ever-increasing population while preserving the natural resources that underpin our food system.
By working together, our global team of engineers, agronomists, data scientists, and digital pioneers solve unique challenges. This is how we drive transformation at speed and scale, and achieve the results that matter.
“Innovation and sustainability are at the heart of how we're helping transform agriculture,” reflects Lucy Douglas, Communications Business Partner, Sustainability & Soil Health.
“Our sustainability goal is simple: higher yields, lower impact. We equip farmers with the seeds, crop protection, biologicals and digital tools they need to produce more on existing land while reducing pressure on natural resources.”
If you want to have a hand in shaping the technologies that will transform how food is grown, you'll thrive at Syngenta.
Although she didn’t know it at the time, the first research project led by Senior Principal Scientist Myriem El Qacemi would deliver breakthroughs that changed farming outcomes worldwide. Her team’s work marked the first, crucial stage of designing a new insecticide.
“One of the highlights of my career was working with this project team,” says Myriem.
“There was a sense that everybody was pushing to excel as a team. There was a real atmosphere of scientific excellence. When you are in such a team, you know that you're making progress and a scientific breakthrough.”
“Syngenta is such a welcoming company,” says Caroline Barth, Chief Human Resources Officer of Syngenta Group. ‘I feel so supported, and I think this drives such great business results, because caring about the long-term relationship for the customer and for each other is really meaningful.
“If someone is interested in science and personal growth, it’s obvious that Syngenta is the place to be.”
For Caitlyn Black, Marketing & Customer Programs Manager, it's the combination of professional growth and meaningful work that makes Syngenta the perfect place to build a long-term career.
“Aside from growth opportunities, potential employees would find our core company values and ambitions attractive - helping farmers grow the best crop,” she says. “We strive to do so sustainably and responsibly. It’s not very common to be able to say that the company you work for is striving to help feed the world.”
“When I was a sales rep in the UK, relationship-building with customers was everything. I remember the pressure to land our biggest local account - and the day the farm manager first called me, not to return my call, but because he needed something from Syngenta. That was the moment I knew we'd turned a corner. In a global role, you perhaps don't get those daily breakthroughs. The scale is bigger, the timelines longer. But I've learned to trust the process - because when you look back, those small wins have a way of adding up to something significant.”

Early mornings in muddy boots, or calm afternoons in quiet labs - at Syngenta, the choice is yours.
“A typical day for me might involve screening plants and collecting data in the greenhouse in the morning, followed by desktop work in the afternoon such as analyzing data or planning new trials,” says Haoyang Duo, Senior Breeding Project Lead – AGH Tomato.
It’s this variety coupled with the company’s mission that led Haoyang to join Syngenta straight out of college. Syngenta has provided Haoyang with a role filled with opportunity, and the chance to make a real change while working alongside industry leaders.
Haoyang says: “What I enjoy about working at Syngenta is the diversity of our teams, their passion for plant breeding and agribusiness, and being a part of a company culture built on respect and equality.
“We are a very diverse team; our members are from different countries and cultural backgrounds, but we share one common goal: to deliver new varieties to the market as quickly and effectively as possible.”
Meanwhile, Melissa Lord, Product Lead at Syngenta, reflects that “every day is different”.
She says: “It’s a mixture of small-group work and individual heads-down work. Plans can shift day to day to tackle urgent work in support of business priorities; it’s ever evolving. What I enjoy about working here is the people, the collaborative DNA of the culture, and the opportunity to contribute to making a tangible difference in agriculture.”
We spend so much of our lives at work. Make sure it’s time well spent.
