Data protection information regarding video surveillance
In order to secure its premises and facilities against entry by unauthorized persons and/or other illicit interference including but not limited to theft, robbery or vandalism as well as to investigate and potentially prosecute instances of such interference,

has installed video surveillance on its premises as well as on the premises of its branch locations in Switzerland (the “Site”). Such video surveillance involves the processing of personal data, in particular images of persons which allow their identification.
This may affect you if you are an employee of Syngenta, its affiliate entities, customers, suppliers or other business partners as well as any other guest at the mentioned Syngenta premises or pass them by in view of the video surveillance. Syngenta is the controller of such personal data and takes its responsibility for its lawful processing very seriously.
The personal data will only be processed, if and to the extent necessary for the abovementioned purposes.
The personal data is only accessed by security personnel. If necessary, in concrete instances for further investigation and/or legal prosecution, the data may be disclosed to members of internal compliance, the management, external legal advisors and/or competent public bodies. The personnel in question are obligated to observe and adequately trained in data protection.
Video data captured via our video surveillance devices may be reviewed in real-time. Further, such video data may be recorded. Recorded video data is only reviewed in the event (i) legitimate interests of Syngenta, its employees, contractors or visitors may have been impacted and (ii) it appears possible that relevant facts may have been captured and recorded. Except where required to protect legitimate interests of Syngenta, its employees, contractors or visitors, recorded video data will be deleted within 3 (three) days from the date of first capture.
In case you are concerned that video data about you has been stored by Syngenta, please send a data subject access request to dataprivacy.ch@syngenta.com, indicating (i) your name, (ii) the date & time when you were on our Site, and (iii) a recent photo of yours for cross-reference. We will then assess your request and inform you without delay in case we hold video data about you. The data submitted as part of your access request will only be processed to handle your request. The data will be erased once the request has been fulfilled or been rejected and such rejection has not been challenged by you.
In case we hold video data about you, you may claim any FDPA data subject right as applicable to video data, in particular your right to object (see Articles 25-29 FDPA). In case of disagreement, you can contact the Syngenta data protection office (dataprivacy.ch@syngenta.com). You have also the right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) at any time if you do not agree with our processing of your personal data (www.edoeb.admin.ch).
