“I built technology long before I worked in agriculture, but agriculture changed how I think about its value. Here, an algorithm or AI system is ultimately connected to something remarkably tangible: a crop growing in a field, a farmer making a decision, and a food system that billions of people depend on. That is a big part of what has kept me at Syngenta. We get to work on some of the same advanced AI challenges being explored across the technology industry, but against an unusually rich backdrop of biology, weather, geography, agronomy, and decades of scientific knowledge.
I’m particularly proud of helping turn new advances in generative and agentic AI into practical agricultural tools, while tackling the harder questions around accuracy, trust, evaluation, and real-world deployment.
